Adopting hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) as a therapeutic agent from deep sea commercial diving and from navies around the world, the medical profession has long been administering oxygen under pressure to patients. Until now, there has been very little written on the subject for the general public. But that situation has finally changed. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, authored by Richard Neubauer, M.D. and Morton Walker, D.P.M., offers easy-to-understand information in lay terms for the reader.

HBOT can also be used in conjunction with EDTA chelation therapy when atherosclerosis, or blocked flow of blood is a problem, as is often the case in stroke, slow healing wounds, and macular degeneration. Results can be dramatic. Patients with cerebral vascular disease recover from complications of stroke more readily following HBOT. Recent evidence shows benefit in cerebral palsy and autism as well. At the same time, EDTA chelation therapy can restore a more normal flow of blood and prevent future strokes. The same holds true for potentially gangrenous legs and feet caused by blocked circulation, and for slow-healing diabetic ulcers. HBOT relieves pain, helps fight infection, and keeps threatened tissues alive while chelation therapy gradually blood flow on a more lasting basis. Dr. Cranton's book, Bypassing Bypass Surgery, describes this chelation process in great detail. - Dr Elmer Cranton, M.D.
